Panjiang Investment Holding Group's Liuzhi Coal-Fired Expansion Project Passes Examination

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Beijing, China)--The Preliminary Feasibility Study Report Examination Meeting for Panjiang Investment Holding Group Company Limited's (Guiyang, Guizhou) Liuzhi Inferior coal-fired power plant expansion project was held under the organization of the Genera Institute of Electric Power Planning and Design (Beijing) in Guiyang from July 5 to 6, 2012. Leaders and representatives from several provincial departments (such as the Development and Reform Commission, the Energy Administration, the Construction Department and the Land Resources Administration of Guizhou Province, as well as other related organizations) attended the meeting, according to Guizhou Electric Power Design Institute (GEPDI) (Guiyang, Guizhou), a subsidiary of the Power Construction Corporation of China (Beijing). This was announced on July 16, 2012.

During the meeting, the Preliminary Feasibility Study Report, which was prepared by the GEPDI, was discussed in detailed and carefully reviewed. The Preliminary Feasibility Study Report finally passed the examination of the expert panel.

Liuzhi Inferior Coal-fired Power Plant is located at Pingzhai Town of Liuzhi Special Economic Zone of Liupanshui City. The power plant currently has one 3 megawatt (MW) and two 6 MW coal gangue-fired power units in operation. The expansion project will be furnished with two 300 MW subcritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) steam turbine generating units together with flue gas desulfuration devices and denitration devices by using inferior coal and coal gangue produced from the owner's mining zone as its raw materials. As reported, the project has been listed in the "Twelfth Five-Year (2011-2015)" plan of Guizhou province.

By using local rich coal resources, the project will achieve the local conversion of resources and will greatly promote the local social and economic development. Upon completion, the existing three small-sized coal gangue-fired units will be dismantled. This will promote the local energy conservation and emission reduction as well as environment protection. It will also set a good example for the construction of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society in Liupanshui.
