After an extensive search for a new location to accommodate growth, the company purchased 10.6 acres of land in the Harbor Bay business park development named “The Waterfront”. Plans call for the construction of a new 135,000 square-foot building and the installation of new roasting and packaging equipment. A warehouse distribution center will also be built to support the company’s long-term growth plans and to the needs of its current customer base.

Construction is expected to begin in early April of 2006, and J.M. O’Neill, Incorporated (Pleasanton, California) has been selected as the general contractor for this estimated $24 million project. O’Neill will be responsible for constructing the building and Peet’s will hire subcontractors to install the process equipment. The project is expected to take eleven to twelve months to complete and all systems are expected to be installed and fully operational by March of 2007.
