Pertamina Improves Air Quality in Asia with Blue Sky Project

The company is planning to install three main process units, which include a 23,000 BBL/d Isomerization Unit (PEC 93000076), a 29,000 BBL/d Reformer (PEC 93000078), and a Naphtha Hydrotreater (PEC 93000077). The company is utilizing UOP's Platformer design for the Reformer and Penex design for the Isomerization unit. UOP (Des Plaines, Illinois) employs almost 4,000 people in its facilities in the United States, Europe and Asia. UOP develops technologies for the oil refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries. UOP is the largest process licensing organization in the world, providing more than 65 licensed processes for the hydrocarbon processing industries.

Pertamina is an Indonesian state-owned company that operates in oil, natural gas and geothermal industries. The company's activities cover exploration, exploitation, refining and processing, transportation, marketing and other related activities. The company has both upstream and downstream operations that supply their required fuel. In addition, the company also exports fuels to generate revenues for the state. The company has refineries with a total capacity of 1.05 million BBL/d located in Cilacap, Central Java; Balikpapan, East Kalimantan; Balongan, West Java; Pangkalan Brandan, North Sumatra; Dumai and Sungai Pakning, Riau; Balongan, West Java; Kasim in Irian Jaya; and Cepu in Central Java.
