PRODUCTION
U.S. Oil & Gas Rig Count Declines - U.S. energy firms cut the most oil and natural gas rigs in a week since February, energy services firm Baker Hughes Company (NASDAQ:BKR) (Houston, Texas) said. The oil and gas rig count fell by seven to 748 in the week ending May 5. Oil rigs fell by three to 588 last week in their biggest weekly decline since March. Gas rigs fell by four to 157, their biggest weekly decline since February. (Reuters)

Plains All American's Oil Pipeline Volumes Rise on Permian Production Growth - Plains All American Pipeline LP (NASDAQ:PAA) (Houston, Texas) said its quarterly crude oil pipeline volumes rose nearly 16% on the back of production growth in the Permian Basin. The company's overall crude oil volumes grew to 8.3 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in first-quarter 2023, from 7.2 million BBL/d a year earlier. (Reuters)
LNG
New LNG Regasification Terminal in Italy to Start Up by End of Month - The new floating terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) set up in the Tuscan port of Piombino, Italy, will start its commercial operations at the end of this month, the chief executive of Italy's gas grid operator Snam (San Donato Milanese) said on Friday. The terminal will make available about 2 billion cubic meters (Bcm) of gas this year and about 5 Bcm next year said Snam's Stefano Venier at a press conference to mark the arrival of the first LNG tanker in Piombino.
