NATURAL GAS
Spain's August Gas Imports Rise - Spain's natural gas imports rose 3.3% in August compared with the same month a year ago, government data showed on Monday. Spain imported the equivalent of 38,055 gigawatt-hours of natural gas in August, Cores, an arm of the Energy and Environment Ministry, said. LNG shipments represented 63% of the total imports, while purchases through pipelines represented 37%, Cores indicated in the statement. (Reuters)
U.S. Natural Drop Drops on High Production - U.S. natural gas futures dipped on Monday in volatile trading as forecasts for higher gas demand over the next two weeks were outweighed by record production levels. Data provider Refinitiv projected average U.S. gas demand, including exports, would rise from 90.1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) last week to 92.3 Bcf/d this week, and to 95.4 Bcf/d next week. Refinitiv said average gas output in the U.S. Lower 48 states rose to 100.1 Bcf/d so far in October from a monthly record of 99.4 Bcf/d in September. Front-month gas futures fell 31.3 cents, or 4.6%, to settle at $6.435 per million British thermal units. (Reuters)
CRUDE OIL
Saudi Aramco to Maintain Full Supplies to Asia in November Despite Production Cuts - Saudi Aramco (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia) has told at least seven customers in Asia they will receive full contract volumes of crude oil in November ahead of the peak winter season, several sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters Monday. The producer is keeping supplies to Asia steady despite likely production cuts by tapping on inventories, the sources said. The full supply allocation comes despite a decision by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies including Russia, known as OPEC+, to lower their output target by 2 million barrels per day.
