Sinovel Wind Signs Contract to Supply Equipment for Huadian Guazhou Windfarm

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Sinovel Wind Company Limited (Beijing) won a bid in the bidding organized by the National Energy Administration for the supply of 3,800 megawatts (MW) of wind power equipment for the first batch of windfarms in the proposed 10,000-MW wind power complex in the Jiuquan region of northwest China's Gansu province recently. On January 6, 2009, Sinovel Wind officially signed the contract with Gansu Huadian Guazhou Wind Power Generation Company Limited (Jiuquan, Gansu), a fully owned subsidiary of China Huadian New Energy Development Company Limited (Beijing). Fuping Shu, Vice President of Huadian New Energy and Chairman of Huadian Guazhou, and Zhengqi Liu, Vice President of Sinovel Wind, as well as other leaders and representatives, attended the signing ceremony.

According to the Contract, Sinovel Wind will supply 201 megawatts of wind power equipment, including 134 sets of SL1500/82 wind turbine units, each with a production capacity of 1.5 MW, for Huadian Guazhou's Number 7 Ganghekou Wind Farm.

The Number 7 Ganghekou Wind Farm is located 60 kilometers from the downtown of Guazhou County in Jiuquan City, Gansu Province. According to the schedule, construction of the project will start in March 2009 and finish in 2010. The project is a part of the first batch of 19 wind farms in the proposed Jiuquan 10,000-MW wind power complex, which is composed of Changma Windfarm in Yumen County, Daqiao Windfarm, Ganghekou Windfarm, and Qiaowan Windfarm in Guahzou County.
