Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Keele Oy (Uusimaa, Finland) is continuing with plans for a plant-wide turnaround in April 2011. Keele Oy is a major shareholder of St1 Holding Oy (Helsinki , Finland), the new owner and operator of the 80,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) St1 Refinery AB, which is in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden.
As part of the takeover, the new owners will continue with the original maintenance schedule for 2011. A major plant-wide turnaround will take place on April 26, and is expected to last 35 nonproduction days in total. It will involve inspection, maintenance and repair works.
Royal Dutch Shell plc (NYSE:RDS.A) (The Hague, Netherlands), the former owner and operator of the production plant, announced on October 27, 2010, that Keele Oy had acquired the plant for an estimated $640 million, along with 340 service stations in Sweden, 225 in Finland, and commercial road transport in both countries. According to the purchase agreement, the service stations and commercial road transport business will remain Shell-branded under a licensing agreement.
