Suncor Energy's Colorado Refinery Proceeds with Major Unit Upgrade

Incorporated, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suncor Energy Incorporated, (NYSE:SU) (Calgary, British Columbia), has awarded Wyatt Field Service Company (Houston, Texas) a contract to perform capital upgrades and maintenance turnaround activities at the Denver, Colorado refinery. Wyatt's scope, valued at $3 million to $5 million, will be limited to construction and turnaround work on the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU).
Wyatt Field Service Company, founded in 1913, serves the refining and petrochemical industries as a heavy mechanical contractor. In 1985, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nooter Corporation, based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Suncor Energy U.S.A. Incorporated acquired the refinery from ConocoPhillips in 2003. The $150 million acquisition included the following assets: a 62,000-barrel-per-day refinery, retail stations, primarily in the Denver area, and ownership in the Rocky Mountain and Centennial pipeline systems.
