Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Synenco Energy Incorporated (TSX:SYN)(Calgary, Alberta), the managing partner in the Northern Lights Project, has filed its application with the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) and the Alberta Environmental (AENV) for regulatory approval of the mining and extraction portion of its Northern Lights Project. The first phase of the Northern Lights Project is envisioned as an intergraded oil sands mining and bitumen upgrading project that will produce 100,000 barrels per day of light sweet synthetic crude oil by late 2012.
The mining and extraction facilities will be located approximately 100 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The mining and extraction facilities will be connected to the proposed bitumen upgrader to be located in Sturgeon County approximately 40 kilometers northeast of Edmonton, Alberta, by a diluted bitumen pipeline measuring several hundred kilometers in length.
