Union Workers Strike Forces Three Indian Oil Corporation Refineries in India to Shut Down

Union workers at the 274,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Gujarat refinery in Koyali, the 240,000-BBL/d Panipat refinery in Haryana and the 120,000-BBL/d Haldia refinery in Midnapur went on strike Wednesday morning, demanding higher wages. Authorities from the three refineries said that all of the processing units are in the process of cooling down. It is unclear when the units will be restarted.
