U.S. Crude Oil Stocks Rise, Fuels Fall - U.S. crude oil stocks rose while fuel inventories fell last week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday, as demand for gasoline and diesel rose on concerns that prices at the pump would continue to rise as the war with Iran upends global trade and supplies. Crude inventories rose by 3.8 million barrels to 443.1 million barrels in the week ending March 6, the EIA said. Net U.S. crude imports rose last week by 661,000 barrels per day (BBL/d), the EIA said, while exports declined by 563,000 BBL/d to 3.43 million BBL/d. U.S. gasoline stocks fell by 3.7 million barrels in the week to 249.5 million barrels, the EIA said. Distillate stockpiles fell by 1.3 million ⁠barrels in the week to 119.4 million barrels. EIA: U.S. Crude Oil Exports Decreased in 2025 for First Time Since 2021 - U.S. crude oil exports decreased 3% in 2025 from 2024, the first annual decrease since 2021, the EIA said on Tuesday. The U.S. exported 4.0 million barrels per day of crude oil, 85 times as much as in 2011, but slightly less than in 2023 and 2024, according to the EIA. The EIA also noted U.S. exports decreased to Europe and the Asia and Oceania region, ⁠the two top regional destinations for U.S. crude oil. The agency added exports to Europe decreased by 7%, likely because increased output from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries replaced volumes from the U.S., while exports declined by 75% to Singapore and 89% to China. Colombia, Venezuela to Repair Binational Gas Pipeline - Colombia and Venezuela have agreed to repair a damaged section of a binational pipeline that will allow Bogota to import natural gas from its neighbor, Colombia's energy ministry said on Wednesday. The Antonio Ricaurte gas ⁠pipeline has been inactive for years. A roadmap for re-establishing operations was outlined in a meeting of Colombia's mining and energy ministries, environmental licensing authority and Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA. (Reuters)
