Vietnam Cement Corporation (VICEM), Vietnam's largest cement maker, and FLSmidth Group made a joint statement to adopt alternative fuels and green technology as both companies aspire to zero-emission power generation in the country. VICEM and FLSmidth agreed to research and innovate new technologies that will not emit harmful greenhouse gases and also minimize the use of fossil raw materials in cement production. The two companies plan to significantly increase the sustainability of Vietnam's cement industry and meet domestic and export demand for cement. State-owned VICEM produces 34% of Vietnam's 100 million tons per year cement capacity and is known as the industry trend setter in the sector.
