Viscose Staple Fibers Plant Expansion in Kosamba, India

Birla Cellulosic Birladham (Bharuch, India) is currently in the planning stage to expand their production capacity of Viscose Staple Fibers (VSF) (PEC 89000722) at their site in Kosamba, India (Plant 1062662). They will construct a new production unit that will produce 35,000 metric tons a year, as well as a new research and development center for textile products they produce such as rayon fiber, yarn, garments, filaments, and fiber grade pulp. The total cost for the expansion is estimated at approximately $45 million and construction is expected to commence in the summer of 2004 with completion dates of 2005 for the research and development center and 2007 for the VSF unit.
