Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Waukesha Kramer Incorporated (Waukesha, Wisconsin) is consolidating its operations at the company's Waukesha, Wisconsin foundry. In January, Waukesha Foundry Company, Incorporated purchased the assets of Kramer International Incorporated, which operated a foundry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The combined companies new name is Waukesha Kramer, Incorporated.
Operations are being phased out at the Kramer foundry and equipment is being relocated to the company's Waukesha foundry. Waukesha has already relocated Kramer's stainless steel production line, and will relocate a cast iron line in August, and copper based alloy production line after October. The original Kramer foundry is scheduled to be closed by the end of the year.
Kramer's equipment includes induction melting furnaces, pattern and core making, and machining equipment. Some rearrangement of existing equipment is being done at the Waukesha foundry to make room for the new lines. No new building space is required to house the new equipment.
The acquisition of Kramer's assets gives Waukesha a leg into the pump related products manufacturing market.
