Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Wheeling-Nisshin Incorporated (Follansbee, West Virginia), a subsidiary of Nisshin Steel (Tokyo, Japan), is commissioning a hot-dip galvanizing line addition at the company's steel finishing plant at 400 Penn Street in Follansbee, West Virginia. The company is expecting final checkout the week of November 25.
The $28 million project involved the addition of a new galvanizing line to produce coated steel sheet, as well as an upgrade to the existing galvanizing line. The expansion will enable Wheeling-Nisshin to produce ZAM (zinc, aluminum, magnesium) galvanized steel sheet in the U.S. ZAM is a registered trademark of Nisshin Steel. Nisshin Steel acquired the Wheeling-Nisshin plant in 2008.
