Williams Energy Continues Expansion of Rocky Mountain Region Natural Gas Liquids Infrastructure
Energy Services is now in the process of evaluating the next round of capital expenditures in the Rocky Mountains region

The following is an advisory by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Williams Energy Services, a business unit of The Williams Companies, Incorporated (NYSE:MWB)(Tulsa, Ok) completed and put into service a third natural gas processing train at its Echo Springs natural gas liquids (NGL) plant in Wyoming. The cryogenic turbo-expander train with a front-end amine unit processes 120 million cubic feet per of natural gas and produces 10,000 barrels of NGL per day.
Linde Process Plants Incorporated (Tulsa, Ok) was the E+P+C firm. Construction on the $30 million project began early in the first quarter of 2001 and was completed within a year. The addition of this third train increased overall production of NGL at this site to 30,000 barrels per day. In this same time period, Williams Energy performed other upgrades to plants in the surrounding area such as the addition of 7,000 horsepower of compression at its Opal plant and numerous smaller gathering and processing upgrades. Williams Energy Services is now in the process of evaluating the next round of capital expenditures in the Rocky Mountains region.
Williams, through its subsidiaries, employs over 12,500 globally and had a net income in 2000 of $524 million on revenues of $32.2 billion. Among the assets Williams Energy Services owns and operates are 11,300 miles of natural gas gathering pipeline, 17 processing plants, 11 treating plants, 14,300 miles of NGL pipelines, and 64 million barrels of NGL storage. Williams is a low cost producer of natural gas with a production cost of 58 cents per thousand cubic feet of natural gas and 38 cents per thousand cubic feet finding cost.
