Hunt Construction Group (Scottsdale, Arizona) was awarded the construction management contract for the project. Site preparation work is expected to begin in September 2005, with the actual building construction starting shortly thereafter. Equipment installation will begin around the first of the year and the facility is intended to be operational by September of 2006.
UPS was founded in 1907 as a messenger company in the United States. Today, UPS serves more than 200 countries and is a $36 billion corporation, recognized as the worlds largest package delivery company.
Hunt Construction Group was founded in 1944 as Huber, Hunt & Nichols in Indianapolis, Indiana. Today, Hunt employs 850 people and maintains a contract volume between $6 billion and $8 billion. Hunt is a full service contractor that does lump sum contracting, construction management, design/build work, program management, program reviews, budgets and estimating, construction logistics and scheduling, cost estimates, project planning and scheduling, procurement, construction administration and construction delivery (commissioning, close out, etc.).
