Within two weeks, the company was able to resume operations and shortly thereafter, proceed with expansion plans for a new facility. Today, Diamond V Mills is near the halfway point in the construction of a new $12 million yeast culture manufacturing plant south of Cedar Rapids. The company is constructing a 28,000-square-foot building that will include 3,000 square feet of office space. Construction started last September, and the company is preparing to enclose the building with anticipation of having the facility operational by July.
