India Expects to Attain Self-Sufficiency in Urea Fertilizer Production by 2021, an Industrial Info Market Brief
India is ready to revive five major fertilizer production units by 2021 to make the country free from dependence on fertilizer imports.
The revival of these five mothballed plants at Talcher, Sindri, Gorkhapur, Ramagundam and Baruni is expected to add approximately 5.4 million tons per year of urea to existing capacity, and will not only boost the productivity of agriculture, but also will reduce the burden of fertilizer subsidies on the government.
