Enbridge Withdraws Application for Offshore Crude Terminal - Enbridge (NYSE:ENB) is setting aside plans to build an offshore crude oil export terminal that would have been able to receive supertankers in the Gulf of Mexico. In a filing over the holidays with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration, Enbridge withdrew the company's permit application to build the Texas Crude Offshore Loading Terminal, or Texas COLT project, off the coast of Brazoria County, Texas. China LNG Imports at Record High in December - China imported a record high monthly volume of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in December, overtaking Japan as the world's top importer of the fuel for a second consecutive month. China imported 7.198 million tonnes of LNG in December, up nearly 16% from November, while Japan shipped in 6.574 million tonnes last month, up nearly 7% from the previous month. (Reuters)
