The scope of the $50 million contract includes the design, development and installation of the equipment. FLSmidth also will be responsible for the supervision of the electromechanical assembly and commissioning of the plant, which will take nine to 12 months. The overall construction time of the plant is 24 months.
The new cement plant will have a production capacity of 669,000 tons per year of clinker and 800,000 tons per year of cement. FLSmidth will supply two vertical mills, crusher, cyclone preheater tower, a 2,000-ton-per-day clinker kiln, coolers, a chrome park and a packaging line.
SOBOCE received all permits for the construction of the plant, including those for environmental approval. They only need the approval of a natural gas supply by state company YPFB (Bolivia Oilfield).
