Aberdeen Energy's South Dakota Ethanol Plant Shooting for Mid-May '08 Start-Up

Working with the design-build team of ICM Incorporated (Colwich, Kansas) and Fagen Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota), Aberdeen Energy is taking shape with the process building being now fully enclosed; the energy center is about 75% complete, the rail loop is nearing completion, and piping continues to be installed in the plant's distillation and fermentation areas. Contractors are working seven days a week to get the project completed and are concentrating on electrical wring.

The plant is located on a 287-acre site in Mina along U.S. Highway 12. The plant will have a nameplate production capacity of 100 million gallons per year. The plant will process more than 35 million bushels of corn annually and also generate 320,000 tons per year of distillers grains.

Cost estimates to build the plant are in the $200 million-plus range.
