Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Anhui Dingyuan’s 620,000 tons per year vacuum salt project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Anhui Changjiang Sallification Company, Limited invested in the salt and saltpeter combined project which includes 580,000 tons of refined industry salt, 40,000 tons of diversified salt and feed salt and 36,000 tons of anhydrous sodium sulfate byproduct in annual production output. The site of the project is located at the juncture of Nongke, a village in Yongkang, Datang Village and Hulv Village in Qingshan, 32 kilometers (km) west of downtown Dingyuan County in central China’s Anhui province. Total investment of the project is $41.9 million, with a land occupation of 12.46 hectares.

According to the approved feasibility study report, the project will adopt three major processes: (1) water solution bittern collection process by drilling; (2) limestone-CO2 (flue gas) bittern purification process; and (3) vaporization for salt production and recovering saltpeter from mother liquor. The project requires 2.41 million tons of raw bittern per year, which will be supplied by Qingshan Salt Mine; required water supply will be taken from Caiqiao Reservoir 26 km away and the required steam and power will be supplied by the 1X7 MW auxiliary power plant, which will be built together with the project.

Anhui Changjiang Sallification Company, Limited is a sub-company established by Anhui Salt Industry Corporation headquartered in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui province on Dec 18, 2005. The company currently owns Qingshan Salt Mine, 17 km west of downtown Dingyuan, in an area of about 1.72 square kilometers. It has a total rock salt reserve of 169.2 million tons, which could satisfy the raw material demand of the project for more than 36 years based on the design capacity of the project.
