Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)-- Anhui No.2 Electric Power Construction Engineering Company (AEPC2) (Hefei, Anhui) has won the construction and erection bid for part of the 1,320-megawatt (MW), supercritical, coal-fired units project at the Jinsha Chayuan Power Plant, according to parent company China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing).

Located in Chayuan Town, Jinshan County, in Bijie City of southwestern China's Guizhou province, Guizhou Jinyuan Chayuan Power Generation Company Limited's (Bijie, Guizhou) Jinsha facility is a typical pit-mouth power plant. It also is referred to as the relocation project of the Qianbei Power Plant and is fully invested by CPI Guizhou Jinyuan Group Company Limited (Guiyang, Guizhou), a regional subsidiary of China Power Investment Corporation (Beijing) in Guizhou.

The project received final approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on December 6, 2013. The project will be furnished with two 660-MW "W" flame coal-fired supercritical units, together with a complete set of environmental protection devices, such as a high-efficiency dust remover, a flue-gas desulfurizer, and nitrogen oxide controllers.

Total investment in the project will be about $850 million.

Site preparation began in June 2013. The main turbine, generator and boiler equipment was awarded to Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan).

According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operations in 2015. Upon completion, the project will replace the four existing 125-MW units (1 to 4) at the Qianbei Jinsha Power Plant.
