Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE:BFA) (Louisville, Kentucky) completed construction on its 150,000-square-foot oak barrel-manufacturing plant in Decatur, Alabama. The Decatur Oak Barrel grassroot plant will make oak barrels in which Brown-Forman can age distilled spirits. It has a total investment value (TIV) of about $60 million.
Construction of the project began in January 2013. Luckett & Farley (Louisville, Kentucky) was the project's architect/engineer, and the construction manager was Encompass Develop, Design & Construct LLC (LaGrange, Kentucky). The plant consists of a production building (measuring 300 feet by 500 feet) and an administrative building (measuring 70 feet by 150 feet).
