Capital Aggregates Developing New Limestone Quarry in the Texas Hill Country

Capitol Aggregates Limited (Austin, Texas), a subsidiary of privately held Zachry Construction Company Corporation (San Antonio, Texas) is planning to open up a new limestone quarry for producing up to three million tons of construction aggregates per year. The quarry will be located on 570 acres of land off of Highway 281 between Burnet and Marble Falls, Texas.

As well as in-pit primary crushing, Capital Aggregates will construct a 750-ton per hour secondary crushing plant at the site. The company expects a public hearing on its operational and environmental permit, which means engineering and construction on the operation, will not occur before the first quarter of 2004.

Capitol Aggregates' has existing plants in Marble Falls, San Antonio, Del Rio, Austin, Georgetown, and Midland Texas. Its quarries and production facilities produce more than six million tons of aggregate material for the construction industry each year. Product is shipped by truck and rail for sale to contractors, homebuilders, concrete product and ready mix plants and oil well services.
