Chesapeake Green Fuel purchased the facility for $1.35 million and began the task of retrofitting the equipment and modernizing the processes to accept multiple feedstocks, including chicken fats, soy and used fryer oil. The facility has the capacity of producing 5 million gallons of B-100 annually.
The factory is in Kent County on School Lane, approximately 14 miles northwest of Dover. Delaware requires all diesel sold in the state to contain at least 2% biodiesel.
