Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Clinton Nuclear Station, which is located in Clinton, Illinois, and is owned by Exelon Corporation (NYSE:EXC) (Dearborn Illinois), shut down its 1,043-megawatt Unit 1 on Friday morning due to a leak in the electro-hydraulic-control system. Plant officials said that they anticipate the outage repairs to be brief, but they are still investigating the cause.

Plant officials say that the investigation will continue through the weekend. Once it has completed, repairs will resume. The unit is projected go back online by Tuesday, April 30, if there are no delays.

Clinton Nuclear station has one generating unit when at full load; the plant is capable of generating a capacity of 1,043 megawatts.
