Enbridge Delays Sandpiper Pipeline Project - Enbridge Incorporated (NYSE:ENB) (Calgary, Alberta) says it will delay construction of the Sandpiper crude oil pipeline project "until such time as crude oil production in North Dakota recovers sufficiently to support development of new pipeline capacity." Williams Files with FERC for Pipeline to LNG Projects - On Friday, Williams Companies Incorporated (NYSE:WMB) (Tulsa, Oklahoma) announced that its subsidiary Transco had filed an application with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the Gulf Coast Connector Project, which will deliver 75,000 dekatherms per day of natural gas to Freeport LNG's liquefied natural gas (LNG) production facility and 400,000 dekatherms per day to Cheniere Energy's LNG facility in Corpus Christi. U.S. Oil Drilling Rigs Increase for Week - Baker Hughes announced that the number of rigs drilling for oil in the U.S. increased by one to 406 for the week ending September 2. This marks the ninth week in 10 that the number of U.S. oil rigs has increased. (Reuters)
Putin: Output Freeze Would be Right Decision - In an interview with Bloomberg, Russian President Vladimir Putin said an agreement between OPEC and Russia to freeze output would be the right decision for the global market. (Bloomberg)
