Oil Up on U.S. Drawdown, Weaker Dollar
- Crude oil prices were up about 2% on Thursday after an unexpected drawdown in U.S. crude oil supplies last week and a weaker dollar following the Fed's decision to keep interest rates unchanged. (Reuters)

U.S. Crude Imports from Canada Highest on Record - Crude oil imports from Canada rose 17% last week to 3.46 million barrels per day, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the most since the agency began collecting the data in 2010. (Bloomberg)

Nigeria Gears Up for Oil Exports - Bloomberg reports that Nigeria will be loading for export two grades of crude that have been blocked for months by the end of this month with additional shipments planned in October.

First Gulf Coast Ethane Shipment Arrives in Norway
- The first shipment of ethane from the Gulf Coast has arrived in Europe, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported Thursday. Enterprise Products Partners, which opened the country's second ethane export terminal on the Houston Ship Channel earlier this year, delivered its first shipment to Norway. (Fuel Fix)

Pioneer CEO: Permian Rig Count to Explode
- In an interview with Bloomberg, Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE:PXD) (Irving, Texas) Chief Executive Scott Sheffield predicted that 100 oil rigs will be added in the Permian Basin over the next year.

Recurrent Energy Starts Up Barren Ridge Solar Plant in California
- The Barren Ridge solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant, which is located in Kern County, California, recently began commercial operations following its completion by owner Recurrent Energy. (IIR)
