Family-owned and operated Didion Milling, Incorporated (Johnson Creek, Wisconsin) has begun construction on a new fuel ethanol plant that will be located next to the companys existing grain storage facility in Cambria, Wisconsin. Plans call for the creation of a 40 million-gallon per year fuel ethanol plant that will process 15 million bushels per year of locally corn into ethanol and 128,000 tons per year of distillers dried grains.
Over 111 fuel ethanol plants operating in the United States have the capacity of producing over 5.4 billion gallons of ethanol annually. By the end of 2007, an additional 60 new plants are expected to be operating adding another 3.6 billion gallons of capacity bringing the countries overall capacity for producing ethanol to 9 billion gallons annually.
