East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Makes Headway as Uganda and Tanzania Sign $3.5 Billion Deal, an Industrial Info Market Brief

The long-awaited Uganda-Tanzania East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project finally gained ground in eastern Africa, as Tanzania and Uganda signed an agreement to build the 1,445-kilometer (898 miles) heated crude oil pipeline. Construction of the pipeline linking planned oil fields in western Uganda to the Indian Ocean port of Tanga is expected to begin in 2021.
