The pipeline will be designed with an initial capacity of one billion cubic feet per day of natural gas (Bcf/d).

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Enbridge Incorporated (NYSE:ENB)(Calgary, Alberta) is planning to construct a 330 mile 36 diameter pipeline originating near Buna, Texas, and traversing across Louisiana, terminating in Clarke County, Mississippi. The pipeline will be designed with an initial capacity of one billion cubic feet per day of natural gas (Bcf/d). To support the pipeline Enbridge will construct two natural gas compressor stations, which will total approximately 33,000 horsepower of turbine-based compression.
The proposed route of the Texas-to-Mississippi Pipeline will provide natural gas producers in south Texas, the Gulf of Mexico and proposed LNG facilities with access to multiple interstate and intrastate natural gas pipeline systems. The proposed pipeline interconnections could provide access to Columbia Gulf Transmission Company, Gulf South Pipeline Company, Florida Gas Transmission Company, Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Company, and Destin Pipeline Company LLC for area producers and LNG receiving and regasification facilities.
Presently Enbridge is holding an Open Season for expressions of interest, which will be closed on March 10, 2006. If the business development process is positive, Enbridge hopes to have the $500 million Texas-to-Mississippi Pipeline in service as early as the first quarter of 2009.
