Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). EnCana Corporation (TSE:ECA/NYSE:ECA) (Calgary Alberta) is planning to construct a new 51.3 mile 24" diameter pipeline to transport 100 mmscfd of sweet natural gas from its Sierra Gas Plant (Plant 1061550) in Northeast British Columbia to an interconnect with Nova Gas Transmission's northwest mainline near Rainbow Lake Alberta. The $30 million pipeline (PEC 57000466) will facilitate marketing gas from the greater Sierra area, in which EnCana plans to drill 70 or more new wells in 2004, at a cost of between $84 and $112 million (PEC 57000465).
EnCana plans to select a general contractor in October and begin construction on the new pipeline in December of 2003. Completion is expected in the second quarter of 2004.
