Food & Beverage Industry Serves Up $2.5 Billion in Texas Projects
While the oil and gas sector continues to lose jobs and slash capital expenditures across Texas, food and beverage firms are pumping capital expenditures into manufacturing and distribution sites in the state while simultaneously creating jobs.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--While the oil and gas sector continues to lose jobs and slash capital expenditures across Texas, food and beverage firms are pumping capital expenditures into manufacturing and distribution sites in the state while simultaneously creating jobs. Industrial lnfo is tracking over $2.5 billion in project spending plans for new construction, upgrades and expansions across all segments of the industry. Project values range from $500,000 to as much as $250 million and include those in the initial planning, engineering and construction phases.
Spending plans with a kickoff date of April 2016 and later currently stand at $1.3 billion and include projects with a construction start date as far out as August of 2017. Of the 159 projects being tracked, 38 valued at $1.2 billion are in various stages of construction, with many still having bidding opportunities for equipment and service providers.
Grassroots construction represents $1.2 billion in spending for 35 new facilities--with 11 of those worth$607 million--already in the construction phase.
