Georgia Crown Building New Liquor Distribution Center in Georgia

One of the largest privately held liquor and spirits distributors in the southeast, Georgia Crown Distributing Company (Columbus, Georgia), is building a new distribution center in McDonough, Georgia just south of Atlanta.
The over $15 million facility will be the eleventh center in the company's portfolio of distribution facilities and the group purchased more than 40 acres of property for the new site.
Rooker & Associates (Tucker, Georgia) is the general contractor for the project, and has been on-site, since May of this year, performing site preparation and pouring the foundation for the massive 475,000 square foot building footprint and structural steel and building erection is scheduled to begin in August.
The site is located along the Westridge Parkway near Georgia Highway 20 in Henry County and will allow the company easy excess to Interstate 75 and to market areas south of Atlanta.
Completion is scheduled for the Spring of 2004.
Georgia Crown Distributing Company is a family owned business founded in August 1938. The full service beverage distributor sells imported and domestic spirits, wines, beers and specialty products. Along with the headquarters center in Columbus, they operate centers in Albany, Atlanta, Augusta and Savannah, Georgia. Centers outside of Georgia include four centers in Birmingham and Huntsville, Mobile and Montgomery Alabama and one Chattanooga, Tennessee.
