Greenleaf Biofuels Begins Construction on Biodiesel Plant in Connecticut
Greenleaf Biofuels has begun construction on its biodiesel production facility in New Haven, Connecticut. The company will produce biodiesel from reclaimed and waste vegetable oil.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held Greenleaf Biofuels (Guilford, Connecticut) has begun construction on its biodiesel production facility in New Haven, Connecticut.
Greenleaf Biofuels will produce biodiesel from reclaimed and waste vegetable oil (yellow grease) from restaurants and food manufacturers. The plant also will produce heating oil and transportation fuels.
The company will invest $8 million into this project. It also received a $1.3 million grant from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, through the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT), to help finance the construction. Greenleaf Biofuels was one of four biodiesel producers to receive a state grant.
The plant is on Waterfront Street in New Haven, Connecticut, about 22 miles northeast of Bridgeport.
Greenleaf Biofuels, founded in 2004, was one of the first wholesale and retail distributors of biodiesel in New England.
