Located in Haskell and Wilbarger counties, Texas, the renewable energy projects will add their power to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) power grid.

The Horse Creek Windfarm began commercial operations late last month, and the Electra Windfarm is scheduled to be online by mid-December.

The projects have a combined total investment value of $730 million. Starwood Energy Group engaged Blattner Energy Incorporated (Avon, Minnesota) as the engineering, procurement and construction firm on both projects. The projects qualifies for the U.S. renewable energy production (PTC) tax credits. General Electric (NYSE:GE) (Boston, Massachusetts) has a 15-year operations and maintenance service contract for both facilities.
