As reported by India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, natural gas production in India during May was 2,300 million cubic feet which is 11.32% lower than the monthly target and 16.02% lower when compared with May 2019. The main reason for the shortfall, quoted by the oil and gas players, was a loss of production due to the nationwide lockdown for COVID-19 and low gas demand.
