Indonesia is preparing to issue a presidential decree that will regulate electricity prices for new and renewable energy generators.
Rida Mulyana, director general of electricity at Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that the decree is expected to attract investors to develop renewable energy sources, estimated at 418 gigawatts (GW). Indonesia is believed to have the world's largest potential for geothermal energy, which the decree is expected to make more affordable.
