Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Indonesia's Chandra Asri (Jakarta) and Swiss company Glencore (Baar) will soon be some of the largest petrochemical players in Southeast Asia after acquiring Shell plc (NYSE:SHEL) (London, England) assets. Based on the sales and purchase agreement, Shell's assets in Singapore include a crude oil refinery, ethylene crackers on Bukkom Island and a downstream facility on Jurong Island. The transaction is still under regulatory approval with a target completion by end of 2024.
