International Matex Begins Petroleum Products Storage Expansion in Louisiana

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--International Matex Tank Terminals Incorporated (IMTT) (New Orleans, Louisiana) began construction last week on its latest round tanks at its petroleum-products storage terminal in Saint Rose, Louisiana. After constructing 17 tanks over the past two years, IMTT will construct six 30,000-barrel crude vegetable oil storage tanks to increase storage capacity.

IMTT has awarded Atec Steel Fabrication and Construction LLC (Baxter Springs, Kansas) the tank-erection contract. IMTT expects to construct the tanks in pairs with a completion date slated for some time in June 2008. Once the new tanks are well underway, 13 new 100,000-barrel refined-products tanks could be constructed at the Saint Rose terminal.
