Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). This fall, privately held, Irving Tissue (Dieppe, New Brunswick) will startup a new tissue paper machine at a mill in Saint John, New Brunswick (Plant 2015868). The plan calls for the No. 1 machine to go off-line on November 2 and completion of the installation of the new machine will be occur three weeks later. The new machine will produce parent rolls of tissue that will be converted into bathroom, facial, napkin stock, and toweling products.
Neill and Gunter Limited (Scarborough, Maine) is responsible for engineering aspects of the project, while a project team, assembled within Irving Tissue is overseeing construction activities. Metso Corporation (Helsinki, Finland) is supplying the new tissue machine and supporting equipment.
Irving Tissue is owned by J.D. Irving, Limited, a family owned business, based in Saint John, New Brunswick. Irving Tissue operates production facilities in Saint John and Dieppe, New Brunswick as well as Fort Edward, New York. Irving Tissue is one of the Irving Forest Products companies, which have been in the forest products business for over 100 years.
