New Biological Wastewater Treatment Technology to be Installed at Quebec Nickel Mine

BioteQ Environmental Technologies Incorporated (CDNX:BQE.V) (Vancouver, British Columbia) will construct an operate a wastewater treatment plant at Falconbridge Limited's Raglan nickel mine located in northern Quebec.

Starting this Summer, BioteQ will construct a clarifier, small building, and bring in skid mounted wastewater treatment equipment based on its new BioSulphide process. The new wastewater treatment plant will replace an existing lime treatment system that has been inefficient and hard to use during the harsh artic winter months.

For the months of July, August, and September, BioteQ will employ a work crew of five to construct and operate the plant.

BioteQ's new BioSulphide process meets environmental water effluent standards and allows for the recovery of metal sulfides to offset wastewater treatment costs. BioteQ's wastewater treatment processes specialize on copper and nickel mining operations, as well as acid mine drainage treatment.

BioteQ is also in the negotiation stage for constructing a $2 million plant at Phelps Dodge's former Bisbee mining operations site located in Bisbee Arizona. The project will reclaim copper from existing tailings ponds.

Falconbridge Limited (TSE:FL) (Toronto, Ontario) is 59 percent owned by Noranda Limited (TSE:NRD) (Toronto, Ontario).
