North Carolina Towel and Tissue Manufacturer Plans to Triple Output

Laurel Hill Paper Company (Cordova, North Carolina), a family owned business, is moving forward with a $12-15 million investment at the companys towel and tissue paper mill in Cordova, North Carolina. The project calls for a new tissue machine, stock preparation area expansion, and a building addition. Currently, the mill produces around 45 tons per day on a 102-inch width Beloit fourdrinier with 10-inch diameter dryer. Once fully operational, the new machine will boost the plants output to 150 tons per day.
Laurel Hill plans to oversee engineering, procurement, and construction through direct hires.
According to Metso Paper, the new machine will represent the Advantage DCT100 tissue machine concept, and will have a nominal wire width of 2.7 m, an operating speed of 1,600 meters/minute, and a daily production of 80-100 tons of high-quality towel and bathroom tissue grades.
Laurel Hill Paper Company was founded in 1984 and is a regional supplier of towel and tissue paper products to the commercial, institutional, and industrial sector.
