Nypro Incorporated Plans $83 Million Expansion in North Carolina

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Plastics products manufacturer Nypro Incorporated (Clinton, Massachusetts) is currently planning an $83 million expansion of the company's Asheville, North Carolina, plant.

Design is currently under way to expand the existing plant by constructing a 75,000- to 80,000-square-foot building addition with the installation of 33 new plastic injection molding machines and supporting equipment. Subcontractor bids for mechanical and electrical contractors will go out in the middle of November. Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-December, and completion is slated for the summer of 2011. Approximately 156 new jobs will be created.

The Samet Corporation (Greensboro, North Carolina) was selected to provide design and construction services for the expansion.
