Reports related to this article:

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Unit 4 at the Muskogee Generating Station, a coal-fired plant in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, was taken offline Tuesday after maintenance personnel identified leaks from the boiler. The plant is owned by Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company, a subsidiary of OGE Energy (NYSE:OGE) (Oklahoma City).

Unit 4 has a capacity of 572 megawatts (MW). The unit was cooled, and repairs commenced hours later. Boiler tube leaks typically are patched and sanded to prevent moisture from seeping through, and normally take three to four days to repair.

Plant workers plan to return the unit to service at the end of the week.

Muskogee Generating Station comprises four large-capacity units. It produces 1,840 MW when all units are at full power.
