Researched by Industrial Information Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Bruce Nuclear Generating Station, which is located in Tiverton, Ontario, shut down units 1 and 3 Monday after a No. 5 motor valve failed and vibrations were detected. Unit 3 also has a low-pressure service water piping leak, which is under repair. The station is owned by Bruce Power LP, a subsidiary of Cameco Corporation (NYSE:CCJ) (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan).

Plant officials said that they hope to return Unit 3 online today, October 14.
Officials expect to return Unit 1 online Monday, October 20, if there are no delays.
Bruce A has four active units that generate a total of 3,304 megawatts (MW) when at full capacity. Units 2 and 4 continue to operate at full load.
