The 44 MW plant is situated on a 4-acre site in Beltrami County near the city of Solway, and is scheduled to begin commercial operation June 1, 2003. The plant consists of a single GE LM6000 combustion turbine that will use natural gas as a primary fuel and No. 2 fuel oil as a backup. Otter Tail Power plans to operate the plant during peak demand or an estimated 2,000 hours per year.
