Petroperu S.A. is reviving a $3.5 billion modernization project at its 65,000-barrel-per-day Talara Refinery on the coast of Peru. Concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic forced the company to suspend activities from March to June 2020, delaying completion until November 2021.
The new units are expected to start up in March 2022, having originally been set for August or September 2021. The facility already had been offline since December 2019 to perform tie-ins related to expansions and upgrades.
